چکیده

Five new species belonging to the poorly known Neotropical doryctine parasitoid wasps genera Heerz Marsh (Heerz ecmahlasp. n. and Heerz macrophthalmasp. n.), Lissopsius Marsh (Lissopsius pacificussp. n. and Lissopsius jalisciensissp. n.) and Ondigus Braet, Barbalho & van Achterberg (Ondigus cuixmalensissp. n.) are described from the Chamela-Cuixmala Biosphere reserve in Jalisco, Mexico. Keys to the described species of the above three genera are provided. The phylogenetic placement of the examined taxa is investigated based on mitochondrial (COI) and nuclear (28S, 2(nd) and 3(rd) domain regions) DNA sequence data.

DNA barcoding a highly diverse group of parasitoid wasps (Braconidae: Doryctinae) from a Mexican nature reserve.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS The preliminary results of a DNA barcoding study of the doryctine fauna of parasitoid wasps from the Chamela-Cuixmala Biosphere Reserve in Mexico, a region dominated by tropical dry forest, are presented. So far, three field trips have been carried out to the reserve and 468 specimens have been collected, of which 407 cox1 sequences were obtained. MATERIALS AND METHODS The...

DNA Barcoding of the parasitoid wasp subfamily Doryctinae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) from Chamela, Mexico

Background and aims. The Doryctinae is a considerably diverse, poorly studied group of parasitoid wasps and one of the most diverse subfamilies within Braconidae. Taxonomic knowledge of this group remains highly incomplete, specially in the tropics. In Mexico, it has been reported as the subfamily with the highest number of recorded genera. A preliminary Barcoding study carried out in the Chame...

First record of the genus Caenophanes Foerster (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Doryctinae) for America north of Mexico with a description of a new species from Wyoming USA .

The first species of Caenophanes Foerster recorded from America north of Mexico is described: Caenophanes harlowi Haimowitz and Marsh, and a key to distinguish the two described New World species is provided. We discuss evidence that suggests that Caenophanes is likely to have cosmopolitan distribution and may be more common than might be anticipated from the current number of described species.

Mexiare gen. nov., a new Doryctinae genus (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) from Mexico with fused first and second metasomal tergites.

A new braconid genus from the subfamily Doryctinae, Mexiare gen. nov. (type species M. toledoi sp. nov.) is described from the state of Morelos in Central Mexico. The described species of this genus is characterised by having immovably fused first and second metasomal tergites, a feature also present in species of two Oriental (Arhaconotus Belokobylskij and Mimipodoryctes Belokobylskij) and one...
